A dedicated fundraiser is urging dancers in the region to help her raise money for Ellie's Haven – the charity set up to build a holiday facility for children with life threatening illnesses and their families in Devon and Cornwall. Pam Pryor is holding a tea dance at Plymouth Guildhall on Thursday, April 17, to raise funds for the charity. She has already raised £1,600 for Ellie's Haven with fortnightly raffles at her dance events, and is hoping to present Ellie's parents with an even bigger cheque at the tea dance, but needs to sell 250 tickets in order to make the event a fundraising success. Pam started dancing at the age of three and at 73 is still going strong. She hosts regular dances in Looe including Pam's Monday Nighters at the Hannafore Point Hotel, which are popular with people across the region. Pam is delighted to be helping Ellie's Haven, and is overwhelmed at the generosity of her dancers. 'Dancing is a great way for people to have fun, keep fit and make new friends; people travel from all over the region to dance, including Exeter, Totnes, Torquay, Tavistock and St Austell,' she said. Julie Libby, principal trustee of Ellie's Haven, said: 'We are delighted to have Pam's support, and we would like to extend our thanks to everyone who supports Ellie's Haven by buying raffle tickets at these dances.' The tea dance will be held in the main hall of Plymouth's Guildhall on the afternoon of Thursday, April 17. Tickets cost £5, which includes refreshments, and music is provided free of charge by Wally's Music. For more information or to buy tickets call Pam on 01503 265102 or Wally on 01752 208873.
