A falconry display took place at Churchtown Farm Nature Reserve, in Saltash, on Saturday. Saltash mayor Bob Austin, who is the chairman of the Friends of Churchtown Farm Reserve, visited the site with his wife Jackie. During the day, demonstrations were given by falconer Julian Clement, of Countryside Hawking with his Saker falcon and lanner falcon from Africa, a Harris hawk and a Bengal eagle owl. The children were able to hold the owl with supervision on a special glove after the demonstration. Friends of Churchtown Farm organise walking programmes during the year. The next will be a natural history walk with Gary Lewis on Saturday, September 22, meeting at Wearde Road entrance at 11am.
