THE NEW-look Barbican Post Office in Looe was officially opened by MP Sheryll Murray.
With opening hours extended by 56 hours a week, Post Office services will now be available at the store seven days a week, with no lunchtime closing.
Subpostmaster Chris Elford was joined by Laura Tarling, Post Office senior stakeholder manager, and Amanda McGinley, field change advisor, for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
'Customers are delighted with the new longer hours. Many local residents work in Plymouth and they found it tricky to use my Post Office as it was closed by the time they get home from work.
'Now they can call in before or after work or at the weekend. This is far more convenient,' said Chris.
'We have lots of ebay customers, for many the weekend is the best time for them to send out their parcels and so they are pleased that we are now open on Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday.'
