The Town Council in cooperation with many of the town's organisations and some other Parish Councils will be staging an exhibition of Liskeard and District memorabilia during the two weeks July 15-July 30.
This is to make Millennium Year and to give people the opportunity to see the plans and some of the artifacts that will become part of the new Town Museum in Foresters Hall.
The Exhibition will be in the Public Hall and Stuart House as well as other venues in the town. A brochure will be printed nearer the time to give more details. If you or your organisation would like to exhibit artifacts, photographs, documents etc we would be pleased to house them.
There seems to be a renewed interest in family history. Are you researching your family history? Would you like to put it on display? If enough families are interested it might prove viable to start a family history group in Liskeard.
The New Museum should be complete at the end of this year. The present Museum in West Street will be open as usual this season. Many new volunteers are involved in training in labelling and documentation of the museum's contents and also are having their skills updated working with the Museum Consultant, Joanna Mattingley. If you are able to help in the Museum or want more details of the Exhibition please contact me at the Public Hall, Liskeard, or attend the next exhibition meeting on February 28 in the Public Hall at 7.30.
