The final arrangements are coming together as excitement builds for Looe Saves the Day festival.

Headline acts for the free three day event are Uncle Frank, Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young, and PP Arnold.

More than 200 bands and musicians will appear across 29 venues in Looe, and the warm up event on the main stage is set to kick things off tomorrow with Three-Minute Warning, Black Friday and Company B.

Admittance to the main stage with a capacity of 3,000 will be on a ’first-come first-served’ basis, following advice from the police, but organisers hope to see a free flow of festival-goers enjoying the many performances and gigs around the town and in the streets.

Fundraising for the community festival has included a gig at the Hannafore Point Hotel with X Factor contestant Benji Matthews and singer Scarlette Von B.

Festival organisers Looe Town Council have rallied hundreds of volunteers to help stage the event, as well as employing professional security staff.

Festival merchandise will be on sale from the information point in the Buller Quay car park and the full programme is available from the Looe Tourist Information Centre, as well as online at www.looesavestheday.co.uk

’There will be more than 200 amazing artists and bands performing over the three days of our community festival and we can’t wait to get started,’ said festival directors Armand Toms and Edwina Hannaford.

’Most festivals of this size take many months to put together - for a team of volunteers from a small Cornish fishing village to pull together a programme of this size in less than three weeks is an incredible achievement.’
