Lions maintained their lead of one point over Section A rivals Market A as both won. Police A drop to fourth place after losing to the Lions. Highway C move up to third place after winning at home to St Neot A.
Police A scored half their points in the first round to lead 2-1 before Lions went into top gear winning 13 of the next 15 games. Brian Olver and Mark Hancock won all six, with both other pairs winning four for the Lions. Bill McCoughlin and Phil Toms won two for Police A.
Market went into a 6-3 over Highway A and then ran out 11-7 winners. Jim Kelly's Frankie Powell won five with Bill Stephens and Sonia Kelly winning four for the Market. Peter Anthony and Gerald McDonald won three for the Highway A.
Highway C were 7-5 up at home to St Neot A and then won all the fifth round to gain the win and then went on to finish 12-6 ahead. All pairs won four for Highway C. Bill Miners and Dave Cock won three for St Neot A.
London drop a place after losing at home to Con Club. London went into the last round 8-7 down but Con Club won the two games to take the points. Val and Sue Pryor won four with both other pairs winning three each. Larry Penter and Dougie Knight won four, Chris Penter and Andrew Bunt won three for London.
Dobsons went into a 5-1 lead at home to Wheal Tor. Both teams then won six games in the last four rounds for Dobsons to take all the points. Andy Powell and Mike Hutchings won all six, Eric Andrew and Ron Hutchings won three for Dobsons. Derek Hayward and Colleen Bolitho won four for Wheal Tor.
Garrison went into an 8-1 lead over Legion B before Legion pulled back to 9-6 going into the last round but they then lost all three giving a 12-6 win to Garrison. Terry Lobb and Trevor Burton won five, Nigel Puckey and Peter Church won four for Garrison. Alan White and Alan Barber won three for Legion B.
White Hart A lead Section B by two points after winning at home to Market B. White Horse are joint second after Legion C lost to Police B and White Horse won at Lord Eliot.
White Hart A were level at three all against Market B but then won nine of the next 12 games to run out 12-6 winners. R Bettison and K Allen won all six with both other pairs winning three each for White Hart A. A Cooper and L Lawrence won three for Market B.
White Horse were 5-4 up at the Eliot and then won seven of the last nine games to run out 12-6 winners. Bernie Hoskin and Phil Kurn, George Keast and Nobby Clarke all won five for the Horse. Bill Haynes and Doug Braidwood won four for the Eliot.
Police B stormed into a 9-6 lead over Legion C, finally winning 12-6. Ashley Crocker and Ian Stanton won all six, Gary Cutter and P Mills won four for Police B. Sue Murray and Elaine Bendelow, Jim Rodda and Brian Clift all won two for Legion C.
Barley B had a close match against Fountain. Barley were 8-7 up going into the last round and won 2-1 to take the points. Neil Cloake and Terry Falconer won five. A Gilmore and V Mayor won three for the Barley. Chris Hocking and Fred Makham won four for the Fountain.
