Section A
Fountain Lions lead Section A by a point after winning a close match against Wheal Tor. Market retain second place with Police A moving up to third place.
Lions went into a 5-1 lead over Wheal Tor B before Wheal Tor came back to 9-6 but couldn't maintain the recovery as the Lions won 10-8. Andy Maslem and Alan Wyatt won five for the Lions. Maureen Skews and Tom Bolitho, Colleen Bolitho and Derek Hayward all won three for Wheal Tor.
Market brought their average right up with a 14-4 win away to Dobsons. Market went 7-2 up and then repeated the scores in the second half. Simon Harris and Rob Trevarthen, Sonia Kelly and Bill Stephens all won five for the Market. Steve Spearing and Mike Hutchings won three, Vic Bray and Colin Butler failed to score for Dobsons.
Police A went 6-3 up against Institute A and ran out 11-7 winners. Bill McGoughlin and Phil Toms recovered from last weeks brushing to win five with both other pairs winning three each. Bill Miners and Dave Cock won three for St Neot A.
Highway A and C are level on points after the A team lost and then A team won against Con Club. Con Club were 8-7 up but lost the last three to Highway C to give them the points. Nigel Williams and Francis Julian, Bernie Hardy and Dave Exall all won four for Highway C. Steve and Gary Pryor won four for Con Club.
Garrison won their match against Highway A. Garrison were 8-7 up with Stan Summers and Nigel Puckey, Terry Lobb and Trevor Burton winning their games in the last leg. Peter Anthony and Gerald McDonald, Ian Wilton and Simon Puttall winning three for Highway A.
London came back from 9-6 down against Legion B to snatch the draw. All pairs from London won three. Clive Sargent and Mark Bartlett, Alan White and John Brice all won four for Legion B.
White Horse drop to third place in Section B as they did not have a match. The White Hart teams move into joint first place.
White Hart B were held to a draw by Police B. Police B went into a 7-5 lead but White Hart B then won four of the last six to share the points. T Pound and R Gillbard top scored for the White Hart with four. Dave Crocker and Jerry Clemes also scored four for Police B.
White Hart A and Barley were sharing games up to the fifth round then White Hart won all the next six games to run out 12-6 winners. Dave Skeet and Lee Crocker won five, Bob Bettison and K Allen won four for White Hart A. Rich Freeman and Bill Denning and three for the Barley A.
Legion C won away to Lord Eliot and are equal on points with White Horse. Legion C went 5-4 up and then won six of the last nine games to win 11-7. Chrissie Haynes and Brian Crabb, Jim Rodda and Brian Clift all won four for Legion C. Stu Braidwood and Tris Mutton won four for the Eliot.
Fountain A won away to Legion A. Fountain went into a 6-3 lead and ran out 11-7 winners. Chris Hocking and 'Fred' Markham, R Young and B Pritchard all won four for the Fountain. Min Prisk and Derek Charge top scored for Legion with four.
Market B went 6-3 up against Cheesewring but the Cheesers fought back to six all. Market B then won five of the last six games to take the points 11-7. John Vine and partner, Shirley Vine and Derek Anderson all won four for the Market. Kevin Gregory and Helen top scored for Cheesewring with four.
