MORE than 100 supporters of a local fund in memory of young Liskeard woman Katie Hallett are expected to attend a discussion on the future treatment of epilsepy in the region next week. KT's Fund was set up by Liz Hallett in memory of her daughter who died in January. It is hoped that £10,000 will be raised each year to help provide an epilepsy nurse for the region's sufferers and their families. And local efforts to raise the charity cash have been boosted further after epilespy specialist Prof Steven Brown agreed to hold a meeting near Liskeard to discuss the positive future of epilepsy. 'This is great news for us and everyone that has suffered with epilepsy,' said Liz. 'We have had fantastic support locally, and it really looks like something positive will come from Katie's death. 'We have in excess of 100 people who said they will come which shows great support for the fund.' Katie will feature in part of articles in two national newspapers in October, documenting the effects that epilepsy has on its sufferers and their family and friends. Anyone wanting to attend the meeting with Prof Brown should arrive at Braddock School for 7.30pm on Tuesday. l For further information, contact Liz on (01579) 346085.
