NOW safely back after a 20,000km charity bike ride dubbed 'A Supersized Adventure' are Ollie Slee and Dan Marshall.

The bike ride began from their home town of Looe last October, and finished in September in Vientiane, Laos. They cycled through Europe, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kryrgyztan, China and Tibet before reaching their destination.

Ollie was accompanied by Jodie Bellamy on the first leg through Europe, with Dan taking over at Christmas in Turkey.

The men's fascinating journey, which was documented regularly in a blog by Ollie on his website, has so far raised £1,500 for charity Ellie's Haven.

Wrote Dan on his facebook: 'We've cycled in the rain, snow and searing heat, through rivers, deserts and over mountains. We've fallen off our bikes, been chased by crazy dogs, stayed with a Tibetan monk, slept in tunnels, abandoned buildings, on roundabouts and the streets. We've had a night on the beer with the Kazakh police, and got deported from a country.'

Said Nigel Libby, Ellie's Haven general manager: 'Ollie's blog has been fantastic. It's enabled us to participate in their amazing adventure and share their enthusiasm for life.'

Ellie's Haven is building a free holiday retreat for families with children suffering long-term and life-limiting illnesses. A property was bought after a huge amount of fundraising, at Duloe in September 2012, and money is being raised to extend and adapt it.
