A Liskeard man will be among 70 cyclists taking part in the charity ‘969 Miles 9 Days’ challenge from Land’s End to John o’Groats and has chosen to support the British Paralympic Association.
Justin Stanbrook, 43, who was educated at St Martin’s Primary School and Liskeard School and Community College, is hoping to raise £3,000 on the bike ride and is one of a group of 10 cyclists taking part for the same cause.
All 70 cyclists have clubbed together to pay for the support crew so that every penny raised will support their charities.
Justin said he had been motivated to undertake the challenge because the daughter of a friend of his was severely disabled, and equipment for anything she does is costly for her family.
For example, when she became interested in watersports, a specialist canoe to suit her disabilities had cost £4,500.
The cycle ride will take place from September 10 to 18 and those wishing to support Justin’s ride in aid of the British Paralympic Association can do so online at virginmoneygiving.com/
