Staff at a South East Cornwall school have stayed in touch with their pupils by making a fun personalised video.

Everyone at St Nicolas School in Downderry got involved in the film, which features headteacher Jake Imrie on a hoverboard, teachers and teaching assistants dancing in their living rooms and gardens and the school cleaner smiling and singing as she hoovers round a classroom.

Set to the song ’From now on’ from The Greatest Showman, the warm-hearted clip shows how much the school is missing its children, and reassures the pupils at home in lockdown that everything will still be there for them when they come back.

Isabel Dixon, whose mum is a teaching assistant at the school, got in touch with the Cornish Times.

’I would love to say a massive thanks for all the effort that St Nicolas Church of England School are putting in to educate, entertain and motivate the children who are all missing school.

’All of the teachers, teaching assistants, cooks, cleaners and the headmaster Jake have made this uplifting film with the song from The Greatest Showman. How amazing are they?’
