STUDENTS have taken part in debates in the Houses of Parliament as part of a trip to London.

The annual ‘Democracy Visit’ for Year 8s at Liskeard School helps youngsters to learn about how politics works and also aims to give students a voice.

The group visited the London Central Islamic Mosque before heading to Westminster for a guided tour.

The students watched debates taking place in the House of Commons and the House of Lords, before participating in some debates themselves.
