Level 1 and 2 Sport Instructor Training Programme students at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, given a series of ’get active’ sports sessions to a group of adult residents with additional needs from the Bowden Derra Residential Home.

Activities in the sessions included jingle ball, giant ball bowling, target games and parachute activities. It is a great opportunity for the students to gain coaching experience in ‘real life’ situations and gain evidence for their NVQ portfolio.

Student Katie Pengelly, said: ’The group from Bowden Derra are brilliant, very enthusiastic and it is great working with them. It is giving me insight into how to deal with different situations in the future.’
