PUPILS at a school marked World Porridge Day to raise awareness of children living in poverty. The pupils at St Germans School learnt about the charity, Mary’s Meals, which provides a daily meal in a place of education to children in developing countries.

The pupils heard that 500,000 children in 16 of the world’s poorest countries benefit from a daily meal of porridge provided by the charity.

A large bowl of porridge was prepared for the St Germans children to enjoy.

The pupils also took part in a porridge smiles competition in which they decorated bowls of porridge with a face.
