Students at Cornwall College Saltash are benefitting from a very special therapy dog called Sylvia.
Vocational and Work Related Studies staff introduced Sylvia to the department when they became aware of research that outlines the benefits to students.
Team Lead Roxy Kilmurray, said: ‘Sylvia has brought so much to the department.
She encourages communication and self-esteem from the learners and enables them to open up to our Learning Coach. Sylvia has a timetable for her working day which also allows her to have some quiet time as well as one-to-ones with learners who require her support the most.’
