Staff and students are in shock after a college of further education announced it would be closing in July.

Cornwall College in Saltash has been providing post-16 vocational education for 35 years.

The Cornwall College group says the decision to close is down to cuts in funding for further education. It says it has seen its budget shrink by a third over the last ten years.

The College will be open during the evening (until 7pm) this week for students and parents to come in to discuss their options, and a helpline is available for students, parents and carers for further information on 0330 123 2523.
