Cornwall Council is congratulating all the students receiving their GCSE results today.

This year sees a change to the headline measures that the Government will report, focusing on Progress 8 and Attainment 8, as well as the percentage of students achieving GCSE grades A*-C in English and maths.  Early indications suggest that students in Cornwall have performed well against the national picture for these measures.

’I would like to congratulate all the students for their hard work and achievements in this year’s GCSE exams, said  Andrew Wallis, the Council’s cabinet member for children and young people.

Anyone who is unsure what to do next can contact the National Careers Service which offers free and impartial advice and access to a range of online tools, on a dedicated careers helpline 0800 100 900.
