HOT Cross Bun kits for families, a fun family treasure trail and a competition for children have all been part of Menheniot’s Easter celebrations.
A local resident who wrote in to The Cornish Times to thank the church team, said that they had been “wonderful throughout the pandemic”.
Hot cross bun kits were given to anyone who wanted one on Good Friday, so that families could bake their own buns together. Eggs were donated by Davey’s of Trerulefoot with the remaining ingredients carefully weighed out and packed into bags by volunteers.
A ’hunt the eggs’ trail was created around St Lalluwy’s church yard including a giant cross, and hand carved and painted donkey and cockerel, and the small team (Ruth James and her husband Chris, Flis Sneyd, Jennie Harrison and Trish Conbeer) were back to decorate the church with flowers ready for the Easter weekend.
Today, an Easter Garden competition will be held for children and the tiny gardens created on plates or trays will be displayed around the church yard.
