Saltash United 2 Dobwalls 2 A good sized crowd was at Kimberley Stadium to watch Tuesday's highly entertaining draw between two evenly matched sides. All the goals came in the second half, with Saltash twice going in front, only to be pegged back by a resilient Dobwalls team. Neither side were able to create any clear cut openings in a highly entertaining first half. The second half being much more exciting, as both teams threw caution to the wind in the search for goals. The Ashes eventually broke the deadlock after the break with a Dennis Mason goal. Miles Evans rounded off a powerful run into the penalty area, before crossing to Mason who made no mistake. It didn't take Dobwalls long to retaliate, when slack Saltash marking at a Simon Skews corner allowed Adam Billing the freedom to head over keeper Dan Johnson. But back came Saltash to retake the lead through Gareth Jones, who finished off a good move between himself and Chris Cutting. The goal of the match was left to the end, when an Aidee Walton shot from outside the penalty area flew past Johnson's despairing dive to hit the far post before crossing the line. Both managers, Tony Richardson of Saltash and Dobwalls' David Skews' agreed it was an excellent match and the result a fair one.
