Saltash Utd 4 Foxhole Stars 5 Title hopefuls Foxhole made the best possible start at high-riding rivals Saltash with a goal inside nine minutes from Sam McKune. Lively exchanges followed with Dennis Mason for Saltash and Mark Cox for Foxhole both going close for their respective teams. Foxhole went two-up on 40 minutes through top scorer Mike Body and pressed home their advantage following the break when Mark Carter and McKune opened up a 4-0 advantage. With skipper Malcolm Wills, Paul Sidey and Dennis Mason using their experience to good effect, Saltash fought back with goals from Mason (pen) and Gareth Jones, only for Body to check their revival with a fifth for the Foxes. Spirited Saltash pressed at every opportunity and in a thrilling climax got to within a goal of the title favourites when time ran out, netting through Chris Cutting and Sidey.
