If there was a 'Manager of the Year' award in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League then Torpoint Athletic boss Stuart Dudley would surely be a front-runner.
The former Plymouth Parkway coach and Wadebridge Town manager has masterminded a turnaround in the Premier Division club's fortunes since moving to The Mill in June of 2009. The Tamarsiders were among the pace-setters in the top-flight for most of Dudley's first campaign in charge, until a late surge of matches proved too much for his small squad, who finished in a credible eighth place.
That was not a bad effort, considering that Dudley took over when the majority of the previous season's players had departed for pastures new. His ability to wheel and deal proved to be vital for the Tamarside club, as he has built a squad that has blossomed into one of the most attractive footballing sides in the Peninsula League this term.
