Needing one point to secure promotion, Gunnislake found themselves a goal behind after 15 minutes. By half-time, the home side had levelled proceedings having taken one of the many chances they had created. The goal came from the head of Chris Haddy, who converted a Paul Tomkins centre.

Despite a below-par performance in the second half, Gunnislake continued to create goal-scoring opportunities. On 75 minutes, Andy Campbell cut in from the right hand touchline to find the top corner of the goal with a 20 yard shot, his first goal for the club, to secure another three points.
