A young man is one step closer to achieving his ambition of becoming a steam train driver. Ben Patrick has passed out as a fireman with the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway – a significant achievement for the 19-year-old volunteer, according to his mentors at the heritage attraction. Ben, who lives in Liskeard, will now be seen firing the railway’s steam trains, some of which date back to the Victorian era.
