The first rounds of the Cornwall Billiards and Snooker Competitions have been played.

In the Snooker Individual, Andrew Pearce (St Neot) had an excellent 3-0 win over former champion Steve Downing (Clinton SC), gaining a 55 break in the third frame, while Barrie McIntosh (St Blazey AFC) had breaks of 93 and 68 in his 3-2 win over Darran Lock (Looe SC).

In the Individual Billiards, Charlie Gay (St Day) had breaks of 63, 48, 87 and 41 in his success over Geoff Lingard (Camelford), while Chris Mitchell (Dobwalls) won a tough game against Steve Downing by 500 points to 447.

Derek White (Jago Menheniot) had breaks of 43, 47, 53, 82 and a 56 unfinished in his victory over Alan Snell (St Cleer). Alan also enjoyed breaks of 57 and 46.

The Over-45 competition is proving to be a very tight event, with most of the results ending up 3-2.

Bob Stephens (St Blazey AFC) edged out John Daniell (Lostwithiel CC) and Roy Good (Breage SC) also had a close one with Jim Kelly (Launceston).
