I was dismayed to read in the Cornish Times (11.12.09) that there are proposals to abolish the residents' discounted car parking scheme in the former Caradon district. I feel I must complain in relation to what is discrimination. The report stated that it was thought that the current scheme was 'unfair to people in the rest of the county'.
Well, its removal would be unfair to us as residents of the former Caradon district. When we were asked to vote on One Cornwall, we were informed that we would have a better service locally. This is obviously not happening.
If Caradon could afford a residents' discounted car parking scheme, surely One Cornwall could do the same? One Cornwall should be looking after its residents not driving them out of town centres.
