A Cornish theatre company is launching a competition to find a new logo.

The Arc, based in Linkinhorne, is planning a new show for Sterts amphitheatre in Upton Cross next summer and before they start promoting it, they’d like a new logo. It is a bittersweet story of enduring male friendship, set in Cornwall, with plenty of music and comedy.

Artists, illustrators and designers of any age or level of experience are invited to create a design – there is a £100 cash prize plus free theatre tickets for the winner. No experience is necessary – just a flair for creating a striking image that can be used on posters, fliers and online.

Play writer Simon Parker said: ‘We are looking for a logo that’s clear, strong and beautiful – and says what we’re about as a company. We believe in making theatre that’s inclusive, that deals with universal themes, and that challenges the status quo.

’The logo doesn’t need to be perfectly executed. We’d just like people to think about the company, what it does, and what it stands for, and make a design, do a sketch, have a scribble. It needs to use the words – the arc – in the design.’

To enter the competition, post or email your design to The Arc, Halwinnick Cottage, Linkinhorne, Callington PL17 7NS or email [email protected]
