CSWPL PREMIER DIVISION (Tuesday) Liskeard 2 Falmouth 3 A GOAL from former Liskeard central defender Brinton Nute, 20 minutes from time, condemned the Blues to a third consecutive defeat in a game they looked to have in their grasp after only 17 minutes. Liskeard tore into Falmouth from the opening whistle and were in front after 10 minutes as Leon Hapgood's fine right-wing cross was fired home at the far post by Dominic Richardson. Hapgood was again the provider as his astute pass found Chris Wright showing good control before advancing into the box and firing, low, across goalkeeper Nathan Murphy and inside the far post. Wright was denied a second, minutes later, by a great last-ditch challenge by Nute, before James Miller's shot on the turn flew inches wide. The visitors began to come back into the game in the dying moments and, with the Blues' defence appealing for offside, Andy Bowker cut into the area to fire past Grant Fisher and give the visitors some hope for the second half. Robbie Herrera's protests, from the dug-out, earned the Blues' substitute a red card and he spent the rest of the game in the crowd. That goal had a two-pronged edge to it as Liskeard's belief appeared to have deserted them in the second half, while Town were on fire. Glen Squires somehow missed a great chance in the first minute and it was backs-to-the-wall for a shaky, and sometimes pedestrian, Blues' back line. It was no surprise when Bowker increased the visitors' lead on 67 minutes as he was allowed the time by Lee Bradd to turn and fire across Fisher from four yards. The marking was non-existent three minutes later as Darren Burchell laid a corner back into the path of Fergus Nevin, who was left free 18 yards from goal. The former Argyle apprentice cracked in a shot that Fisher parried, but Nute stormed into the six-yard box to hammer the loose ball into the roof of the net while the home defence stood and watched. To make matters worse for Liskeard, Richardson received a straight red card for a challenge on Lee Beer, but even then the home side could have rescued a point, but Bradd headed over from a couple of yards out in the very last minute of the game.
