With the season reaching the halfway mark the in-house top-table derby at the Rodney was of great importance. Rodney A started the better, taking the team games 2-1. They followed this with four singles through Norman Yarde, Mike Fluhrer, Paul Ferris and Dave Callaghan. The B team then took three singles through Vic Carpenter, Brian Gray and Des Bunney but going down 6-4 they trail the A team by one point.

SWMC B, also in the running for league honour visited Notter Bridge, but soon fell behind, losing the team games 2-1. They lost the first single to go 3-1 behind but from them on they did not look back, taking the remaining six singles through Dave Fairall, Darren Ware, Albert Harris, Dennis Briggs and Eddy and Ted Maton for a 7-3 win and so joining Rodney B in second place with 90 points.

Ploughboy had Union Inn as their visitors. Union took the team games 2-1 and then three singles through Kevin Cook, Mark Pearce and Paul Hames, Ploughboy took four singles through G Yeo, Peter Holland, Dave Shanahan and John Penaluna to gain a deserved five all draw.
