THE floorboards were rattling at Saltash.net Community School when the Dance Extravaganza was held in the main hall. A range of youngsters in the school, co-ordinated by Alison Hancock of the PE department, had put together a range of dance extracts featuring ballet, tap and street modern. Live music was contributed by Dave Webber playing electric guitar and by the school's jazz musicians. The event took place at the school over two days, May 23-24, and helped to raise money for the neo-natal intensive care unit at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. Money was also donated to the school's PE department. Local businesses had contributed to the raffle prizes, helping to attract more than 200 people to the event. The first venture of it's kind for the school, the event raised more than £1,000.
