Could there be a Dalek invasion in Liskeard?
One of this dreaded species has taken root in Liskeard & District Museum and concerned staff are now hoping its mates won’t be following on.
The museum, which is already well-known for its outstanding collection of tin plate toys, now adds the Dalek to its exhibits thanks to local toy hunter, Phil Chapman.
It had been sitting idle in a shed in Gunnislake for many years. The invader, originally built by a BBC props maker, is now back on full form and ready to exterminate once again thanks to some sympathetic restoration.
Visitors can download the free Zappar App to their smart phone to have lots of fun interacting with this exciting new alien and other parts of the museum.
Also on display are an exhibition of the history of local medicine featuring some gruesome instruments, an entire floor devoted to the history of Liskeard and a fascinating room full of information and interactive technology devoted to the Mining and Minerals of this area.
Entrance is free with opening hours 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
