A PRIMARY school teacher has been brightening up children’s days as well as supporting the NHS by doing daily ‘princess’ walks.

Since the second week of lockdown, Rebecca Drury has often been seen around Liskeard dressed as Belle or Elsa or any one of a range of Disney princesses or superhero characters.

She’s widened her walks to other areas as the restrictions on travel have lifted.

Rebecca been raising funds for the NHS Charities Together appeal.

‘I was worried about the impact lockdown would have on the wellbeing of the children in my class and local community,’ said Rebecca.

‘My friends in Stockport started the Stockport-Spidermen group so I joined and started Princess Daily Walks in Cornwall.

‘It has raised smiles in the community as well as raising over £40,000 (with giftaid) for the NHS Charities Together fund.’

A recent online auction Rebecca organised brought in more than £400 for the cause.

Rebecca is now busy getting ready for another Facebook Live charity auction for this Sunday (Jun 21) and she would love to hear from businesses who would be prepared to donate a voucher.

Sunday’s auction will start at 8pm.
