THERE were civic welcomes from three towns for a pair of cyclists who passed through South East Cornwall on their way to Paris.
The cyclists, Euan McPhee, 68, from Falmouth, and Roger Creagh-Osborne, 63, a town councillor from Launceston, had set out from Truro Cathedral.
Before starting their journey Luci Isaacson, of Climate Vision, handed them her Carbon Logic Footsteps Report, which they will deliver to the global COP21 UN Climate Change Conference, which begins in Paris on Monday.
The two were met in Liskeard by the Mayor Phil Seeva, together with Deputy Mayor Jane Pascoe, town clerk Steve Vinson and Cllrs Sue Pike and Lorna and James Shrubsole.
They then headed for Looe where they were greeted by the Mayor Armand Toms, Deputy Mayor Martin Gregory and Cllrs Chris Rose and Edwina Hannaford. They were then given a Cornish lunch in the Guildhall tea room.
On reaching Saltash they were welcomed by the Mayor Bill Phillips, and members of Saltash Environmental Action Committee, who provided them with tea in Victoria Gardens.
As they left the town the cyclists went with the good wishes of a number of people, some on bicycles, who escorted them to the Tamar Bridge as they continued on their way to Paris.
