THE streets of Callington were full on Wednesday this week as the annual Honey Fair took over the town. This year's event, organised and run by Callington Lions, was the 28th since it was re-established by John Trevithick in 1978. Around 100 stalls of honey makers, charities and local groups lined the streets for the event. The town hall was a hive of activity for the day. As well as refreshments and displays, the hall's council chambers hosted both the honey competitions and the primary school's art exhibitions. Entertainment was provided throughout the day by bands, street performers and a fun fair in the New Road car park. The fun fair will remain in town until it moves on to Tavistock for Goose Fair next week.
