Gorran II v Luckett II
Luckett's batsmen were once again in great form as they scored a total of 256-6. Darren Piper opened the innings with a 61 from only 23 scoring shots, including a 11 fours. Piper and Paul Ingerson put on a further 61 runs for the third wicket before Ingerson was caught for 20 with the total standing at 117 for three.
Ian Roberts and Dave Colwill then came together to put on another 112 runs for the fifth wicket, when Colwill, fell, for 75 from only 22 scoring shots. His impressive innings included seven sixes and six fours. Roberts was out soon after for 29, while Robin Gold (12), Tom Bolitho (11) and Steve Gold (14 n.o.) all helped take Luckett to 256-6. On the bowling side, M Atkins took 2-87, Rob Bunny managed 1-34, M Shepherd 1-42 and T Blamey 2-30.
Gorran started their reply in a rather disappointing manner, losing three wickets in quick succession. However, good knocks by C Churms (49), including three sixes and two fours, and I Chinn (44) helped Luckett edge towards their target.
Other scorers included M Atkins (15), D Pill (17) and T Blarney, who scored 19 not out, taking the total score to 191-8. Luckett were victorious by a margin of 65 runs. Dave Colwill took 2-54 in 12 overs, while the old veteran Tom Bolitho managed 2-31 in a 16-over spell. Young Adrian Robins also bowled well and was unfortunate not to take a wicket, although Paul Ingerson fared much better, taking 4-41 from just eight overs, helping Luckett to stay top of the table with only a few matches remaining.
