Into Plan B from the outset, Callington invited promoted Torpoint to bat on an inviting St. Germans Road strip. Will Craven, with early strikes, seemed to have made the plan work, but there were just too many loose deliveries offered up again and Torpoint struck their way into a strong position. Deb Penprase and Kev Borlase bowled with unbelievable bad luck - and sometimes poor support - but Terry Freestone backboned a down-the-order scoring sound total.
Luckless Ivies hit 13 off the first over of their reply, then bad luck and bad batting combined to torpedo the innings. Al Radley nagged away while the wayward Harding bamboozled and bombarded all comers. Light relief from Wild Will Craven, slamming the ball to all regions in and outside the ground, ended a day which epitomised a topsy-turvy Callington Ivies season and left Torpoint's promotees well on top.
