In this top table clash Tideford, batting first, were quickly up against it and losing wickets at regular intervals they were dismissed for a disappointing 90. Jerry Snowdon (20) was top scorer with only D Copp (15) and Julian Kinsey (10) their only other bats to reach double figures. For Looe Simon Farley did the damage taking 5-32 off 15.1 overs six of which were maidens. Mike Pengelly returned 3-37 and Robin Trethpwan 2-15.
Looe lost a wicket with 12 runs on the board but A Nicholas batted superbly and was the backbone of the innings with 34 n.o. John Nance (22) and Robin Trethowan (14) made useful contributions as Looe passed Tideford total for the loss of only three wkts. D Bradbeer took 2-36 and D Copp 1-17.
