Cricket- Cornwall selectors make three changes

The Cornwall selectors have made three changes from the team defeated against Gloucestershire Board for their final group game against Devon at Penzance on Sunday. The game will be played with only pride at stake as Devon won the group on Sunday, defeating Somerset Board by 10 wickets at Instow to follow up a nine wicket win against Dorset and a 97 run win against Gloucestershire Board.

Young Truro batsmen Ben Price is called up for his first County game. A member of Cornwall Under 17's last year, he has established himself in Truro's First XI this season. Stephen williams, who was unavailable for the last game, returns and there is also a recall for Perranarworthal spinner James hands. he made just one single appearance for the County last season, playing in the corresponding MCC Trophy against Devon at Chagford which Cornwall won by 68 runs. David Angove steps down to 12th man while Paul Lello and Tom Sharp were omitted.

The team is as follows: Gary Thomas (Captain), Stephen Williams, Jon Kent, Ben Price, Carl Gazzard (wk), Barry Purchase, Amir Abbassi, James hands, Nick George, Justin Stephens and Charlie Shreck. David Angove is 12th man. Play begins at St Clare at 11.00 am.
