They counted them all out and they counted them all back... that was the order of the day as the mist swelled around Looe Bay on Saturday.

Dominic Lozynski and John Crabb, helms of the safety boat, had a difficult job keeping track of the fleet at times – but they did an admirable job. The race was eventually shortened to two rounds of the course as conditions worsened.

The star performance went to Laser helm Rob Dewe for his efforts in catching Tom Shaw on the second time around. He achieved the feat by a foot on the finishing line, which certainly put eagle-eyed race officer Brian Carvey's X-ray vision to the test.

In contrast, last Thursday's evening race was a hang-on-and-hope job in more gusty conditions.

In the end, it was the old hand in the Enterprise fleet, Steve Sargent, who was the only member to remain upright throughout.
