A COUPLE have proved it is better to give than to receive with donations to local good causes.

Artist Liz Jones and her husband Colin both celebrated milestone birthdays with friends and family this year.

Instead of gifts, the Rame Peninsula couple asked that donations were made to the Black Prince Flowerboat Procession and to CLIC Sargent, a charity supporting children with cancer.

And while Liz and Colin are keeping their exact ages a secret, the pair were happy to reveal that their gesture had raised a total of £424.
