Liskeard Girls have been crowned the Under-14 County Champions following a comprehensive final victory over Truro at Newquay's Mount Wise ground.

The East Cornwall youngsters had already completed an unbeaten season in the Kernow Youth League – and put the icing on the cake by booking their place in the regional finals, which take place in Bristol next month.

The girls took a while to get used to their surroundings at Mount Wise, but broke the deadlock thanks to a superb strike from Molly Walsh.

The goal seemed to galvanise Liskeard, with captain Imogen Cooper and Xena Warren pulling the strings in midfield.
