LISKEARD Town Council has objected to proposals for 25 homes to be built on industrial land in Liskeard because it doesn't fit in with the town plan. Mony Developments LLP has submitted an application to Caradon District Council to build 25 homes, ten of which will be affordable, at the Liskeard Enterprise Centre on Station Road. Catchfrench Design, the company in charge of the application for Mony Developments, said in its report to Caradon: 'It is considered that the brave steps that Mony Developments PPL has made in purchasing this decaying industrial land in a significant part of Liskeard provides an opportunity to achieve a much-needed social housing requirement within the town.' However, the company's views are not matched by Liskeard councillors, who objected to the proposals because they felt it would result in a loss of vital employment space, be harmful to the vitality and viability of the town centre and would go against the council's town plan.
