Forget Brexit – could this be Crexit?
People entering Cornwall last week could have a new Cornish passport stamped.
They were being issued at a new Cornwall Border Agency checkpoint on the Tamar Bridge.
But there’s no danger of the county exiting the UK: it was all the work of author Phil Billington. Passport To Cornwall, compiled by Phil, is a pocket-size book containing 114 pages of guide notes to the principal places, pastimes and people of Cornwall – designed with a Cornish passport front page by publishers Polperro Heritage Press.
And people who buy the book will be encouraged to take their copy to any Tourist Information Centre in Cornwall and get their passport stamped.
Phil, who has also written Fabulous Fowey, said: ‘Passport To Cornwall is Cornwall in a nutshell really, a reference tool that tourists, locals and escapist armchair browsers everywhere can enjoy and be inspired by.’
Passport To Cornwall is published by the Polperro Heritage Press, price £6.95, available from bookshops and TICs or direct from the publishers.
