Crane in
the post
A Looe postman delivered a crane to a restaurant in the town on Thursday, but luckily for him, it was of the feathered variety!
The Cornish Times had published an appeal for the return of a metal and bronze sculpture in the shape of a crane which was recently taken from Mawgan's Restaurant in Higher Market Street, and yesterday morning it turned up. It was left outside the post office on the Barbican, East Looe, addressed to the restaurant with a 1p stamp attached.
The crane was taken to owner Mr Eddie Morgan after the normal postal deliveries by the post office. 'I am exceedingly pleased to get my crane back' he said, 'and I thank the Cornish Times and the local police for their co-ordinated effort. It seems that it was a prank, and the publicity obviously made someone feel a little guilty'.
