Woman is found

with head wounds

POLICE arrested a 25-year-old man yesterday after a woman was discovered naked, and with head injuries, in a Newquay street.

The woman was discovered in the early hours of yesterday on a path between Atlantic and Pentire Roads. She was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, with serious head injuries.

A team of police officers was drafted into the town, and carried out a fingertip search of the area, which was cordoned off.

Caroline suspect

THE man who is the prime suspect in the murder of Launceston schoolgirl Caroline Dickinson, is, according to his lawyer, going to try to fight extradition from America, where he is being held following a sex offence at a Miami Beach hostel. Caroline, 13, was murdered in l996 in a youth hostel in Brittany.
