CANCER Research UK and Cornwall Hospice Care will be the two official charities for this year’s Royal Cornwall Show.

The annual show is staged by the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and secretary, Christopher Riddle, hopes both official charities enjoy a successful time during the event.

‘Each year the Association selects two official charities to benefit from the rights to raise funds at the show and just as importantly raise awareness of what they do,’ he said.

‘They are both very worthy causes, close to so many people’s heart and we hope that they each raise a considerable sum to support their work from the ever-generous Cornish public.’

Good

The Royal Cornwall Show will take place on June 9, 10 and 11 and the organisers are hoping for another good attendance.

Last year saw the show’s fourth highest visitor numbers on record with more than 126,000 people passing through the gates.

Lindsay Opie of Cornwall Hospice Care said: ‘It’s a huge honour to be selected as one of the Royal Cornwall Show’s chosen charities.’
