Cornwall on a roll for a double celebration

The weather forecast is chilly but the heat and tension generated by thousands of feverish Cornish rugby fans in the boiling pot at Twickenham tomorrow will be unbearable. There is no doubt that Cornwall is a rugby nation, and there will be a 100 cars at least for every one that has misguidedly decided to head for FA Cup Final and Wembley instead. The Cornwall supporters are the envy of all sides at county level, in fact there is a dread of being drawn away to the Cornish at Redruth, and win or lose they will be overwhelmed when the final whistle blows by fans full of pride at their achievement for making it to the final. If Cornwall wins the Tetley Bitter County Championship for the second time this decade, Twickenham and the county, will explode into a mass celebration. For the Cornwall Under 21's who play their final against Yorkshire at 12.30pm, before the Cornwall v Gloucestershire match at 3pm, it is an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives, for they will be playing before Trelawny's Army on tour, which will give them the same huge support as the senior side. Let's go for the double lads and prove to the rest that there's a whole lot more to Cornwall than the humble pasty.
