No new ‘clusters’ of COVID-19 virus cases have been reported in Cornwall in latest figures – but South East Cornwall has the largest existing cluster in the county, although figures across the board are relatively low.

A ‘cluster’ is defined as being three or more cases of the virus in an area of 750,000 people.

The latest figures from Public Health England are for the period October 10-16, and the area in Cornwall with the largest cluster is Lostwithiel and Penwithick, where 11 people have tested positive for the virus – though obviously this is a low figure compared with areas upcountry.

Other areas in South East Cornwall with clusters are currently:

- Mid Saltash with three cases;

- Torpoint with three cases;

- Kingsand, Maryfield and Antony with three cases;

- Launceston with three cases;

- Tywardreath and Fowey with three cases.
