On Saturday the CCSMBA held its annual charity competition at the Dragon Centre, Bodmin with 36 teams competing for the Hill House Hammond Shield. The chosen charity this year was the Joey Appeal at Treliske Hospital.

The final total raised is not yet known. The competition was eventually won by last years runners up Graham Reeves, Bernard and Darren Woolner from the Saltash club, who beat Pam Hamley (Lostwithiel), Fred and Iris Coleman (Camelford) 10-3 in the final. Both finalists had defeated teams from the Tintagel club in the Semi Finals.

This weekend the first of two club titles will be decided at the Dragon Centre with the club fours competition. 28 teams will be competing for the title currently held by St Minver.

Eight bowlers travelled to Langport, Somerset to play as part of a south

west team against the England Team. Cornwall were represented by Roy Christophers, Ken Banfield & Percy Tripp (Helston), Tony Beecroft (St Newlyn East), Viv Cornish (Camelford), Bob Easton & Chris Cawrse (Lostwithiel) & Phil Hicks (Luxulyan). The team of Roy Christophers, Ken Banfield, Percy Tripp & Tony Beecroft recorded 3 wins out of 4.
