A CORNISH zombie-comedy featuring villages in lockdown and cream-tea eating creatures of the night will have its premiere on Liskeard Radio tonight.

Apocalypse Kernow was originally intended by its creator Greg Winders to be a one-man show at the Plymouth Fringe Theatre Festival during the May half term.

But with a live performance not possible, Greg has been recording sketches from the play and uploading them onto his Facebook and YouTube channel OMF Theatre (One Man Films).

The tongue in cheek series of clips takes a gentle swipe at parish councils, Cornish MPs in the House of Commons, and such local institutions as Trago Mills and the Cornish Times. The short sketches have been woven together with sound effects by Matrin Calvert to make the play – and people can listen in online on Liskeard Radio at 10pm tonight.

Greg, who lives in Liskeard and is a History teacher at Penrice School, says the play will definitely be performed as a one-man show once restrictions lift – but that he’d like to get more people involved as actors too.
