A Cornish vodka has been recognised as one of the best on the planet, stealing silver at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2019.

Produced by Colwith Farm Distillery at Lanlivery near Fowey, Aval Dor (Cornish for potato) beat off global competition to take Silver at the Oscars of the spirits industry. The 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition saw a record-breaking year with almost 3,000 entries from all corners of the world.

Steve Dustow has been producing Aval Dor since 2014, using potatoes grown on the fifth-generation family farm. Now being produced and bottled all on one site, the vodka spirit is distilled forty-times in state-of-the-art stills, then blended with mineral water from an aquifer deep beneath the farm to create a smooth and creamy vodka.
